After a few minutes, you head back home and enjoy a cup of coffee on the enclosed, three-season front porch. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the morning, followed by the fun and excitement of the afternoon! Whether you are looking for a quiet morning stroll or an afternoon of family fun, you know that you’ll cherish these memories for years to come.
Shady Pines Harbor Springs is newly-renovated two-story home that can accommodate up to 6 guests, including the family dog. It is fully equipped to be your family's home-away-from-home. Perfect for your week-long family vacation, weekend getaway, work-from-home alternative, or cozy home base while exploring everything Northern Michigan has to offer. To top it all off, it’s only a short walk to downtown restaurants, shops, family entertainment, Lake Michigan public beaches, and of course, the famous Harbor Springs harbor.
Shady Pines Harbor Springs boasts modern conveniences to help you feel at home, yet still maintains the original charm of a 110-year-old home. The home has been lovingly restored, personally by the owners. The main living space remains as it was built in 1910 (albeit a slight refresh) with the original hardwood floors, plaster walls, and molding. Even the two original stove chimney stacks can be seen in the dining room and what is now the master closet.
Start your day with coffee from the fully stocked Coffee Bar featuring a traditional coffee maker, Keurig, and a French press with coffee grinder. After a long day at the lake, or hiking through Northern Michigan’s majestic wilderness enter the house through the back door to take advantage of the Mudroom just off the Kitchen to hang your jackets, and store your shoes and walking sticks. Planning to eat in? The Kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with all of the appliances and amenities to be your culinary home away from home. Enjoy your meals together around the beautiful, natural hardwood Dining Room table, or take it to the back patio for an epic barbecue with the outdoor gas grill. Enter the spacious Living Room with comfortable seating, a 75” Smart TV, high ceilings, and large windows to enjoy the outdoor sunlight. Together with the Den/Office, featuring its own 60” Smart TV, the home has enough space for everyone to spread out and stay “shady.”
The large first floor Master Bedroom is the perfect place to unwind after a fun day exploring Northern Michigan. The room features a king-sized bed with a memory-foam mattress. The Main Bathroom is just off the Master Bedrooom, and is stocked with essential toiletries. The Half Bath is adjacent to the main Bathroom with access through a sliding pocket door, so others can use the shower without waltzing through the Master Bedroom. Venture upstairs by way of the original Staircase where two Bedrooms allow for the remaining guests to relax and sleep. The second Bedroom offers a queen bed, while the third Bedroom is outfitted with two twin beds; all with memory-foam mattresses.
Relax with your family on the secluded, private back yard patio. Build a small fire in the firepit with the available wood pile and starter sticks. Heat up those marshmallows for some smores and enjoy an evening of stargazing.
Amenities include 2 Smart TVs, books, games/puzzles, Amazon Alexa, washer/dryer, dishwasher, gas stove, beach chairs/umbrella, and workout equipment. Also included are child-friendly amenities, such as toys, baby gate, pack-n-play, high chair, outlet covers, outdoor yard games, and sleds. About the Owners:
Our family was introduced to Harbor Springs area 6 years ago during a ski trip, and fell in love with the town. We found this home in January 2022, and spent 6 months personally restoring it to its current beauty. We now enjoy this area all year long, and would love to welcome you into our home so you can enjoy all that Pure Michigan has to offer.
